The floor

Time to get started on the floor. First i had to turn frame upside down so i used old horrid curtains to protect the frame from damage. Also used bubble wrap on side as i had to role it over.

So now i placed alloy sheet on bottom of frame to draw an outline with a marker. The alloy sheet has a protective cover on one side which is what is going to face upwards. It does not matter which way up you do the marking as the car symmetrical.

Once marked out i cut the shape out with an angle grinder using a 1mm disc this was like cutting noisy butter. Once it was cut out i decided to trim it some more as i did not want it to over hang. I also decided on the edges to round them off so nothing stuck out.

Once i got it trimmed right i used a file to take down all the edges, this was easy and gave a good finish. I then clamped down the frame to ensure it would not move while I crawl underneath and mark out. Since the shape is symmetrical i could mark then turn it over to mark holes in the lines.

Before i drilled the sheet down i pealed a bit around the edge back of the protective covering so it will be easier later. The rivets i used were 12mm long 4mm wide to start with. Then when they run out i got a load of 12mm long by 4.8mm wide large head. In total i must of used over 100 rivets at a space on average of around 8mm. This is a very teadeous job and i used around 10 drill bits (your arms get tired holding drill).

To finished i used some leather around the head of a hammer to bend over all the edges as i did not want to cut it down right up close to rivets.

Finally got my car

Finally got my car after the long wait. The car shell is smaller than i thought it would be so i have room left in my garage.
